Turtle Nesting Season May 1st Through October 31st
Monday, June 1st, 2026, TBD
Turtle Nesting Season May 1st through October 31st. Be sure to be informed regarding “Sea Turtles Information” located on the bulletin boards in each building’s lobby, elevators, VOTG website and Eblasts. You must keep your curtains closed and turn lights off, so you do not disorient the turtles. Fill in any holes you made on the beach and remove any obstacles.
Thousands of endangered sea turtles come onshore to lay their eggs each year. 90% of the sea turtles nesting in the USA occur in FL. There are lots of things you can do to help conserve these endangered sea turtles by checking out the various websites. Such as:
Fish & Wildlife website: Myfwc.com/education/wildlife/sea-turtle
Sea Turtle Conservancy website: Conserveturtles.com (The Sea Turtle Conservancy website has a real time turtle satellite tracker migration of tagged sea turtles)
